Client Guide
Hi friend!
I am so, so excited to work with you. Truly. Whether this is your first session or you’ve been in front of my camera before, my goal is always the same—to create something that feels effortless, meaningful, and like you.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know so you can show up feeling confident and relaxed.
What to Wear
The biggest thing I recommend: avoid black clothing whenever possible.
Black tends to:
- lose detail in photos
- photograph flat (especially in natural light)
- pull attention away from skin tones and connection
Instead, I recommend:
- soft neutrals (cream, beige, tan, sage, muted tones)
- earthy colors
- textures (knits, linen, flowy fabrics)
If you're unsure, I am always happy to help you choose outfits
What to Expect
My sessions are very relaxed and guided.
You don’t need to know how to pose—I will:
- gently direct you
- help you move naturally
- focus on connection over perfection
We’re not chasing perfect poses—we’re capturing real moments.
Location
I typically photograph at:
- The Trough Public Access (beautiful river views, natural textures, and open space)
- My property (a more private, cozy setting with a relaxed feel)
Both locations are chosen intentionally for their light, scenery, and overall aesthetic.
If you have a different location in mind, I’m always open to ideas!
Travel
For sessions outside of 60 miles from Hardy County, I charge the national average travel rate.
I’ll always communicate this clearly ahead of time so there are no surprises
Golden Hour (Because Timing Matters)
Most of my sessions take place during golden hour—the hour just after sunrise or before sunset.
This is when light is soft and flattering, skin tones look warm and natural, everything feels dreamy and cinematic
It truly makes all the difference in your final gallery.
Retouching
I always take care of anything that can be fixed quickly and naturally—things like small distractions or temporary blemishes. Because everyone defines “minor” differently, I keep my standard editing consistent across all galleries. A good rule of thumb is: if it can be corrected in just a few seconds, I’ve likely already taken care of it for you.
If you’d like additional retouching beyond that (such as more detailed adjustments), I’m always happy to accommodate for an additional $5 per photo This allows me to keep my editing style cohesive while still giving you the option to customize images if you’d like
Turn Around Time
Your gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks.
I take a lot of care in editing each image so your final gallery feels cohesive, timeless, and true to my style.
Digital Gallery
Your photos will be delivered through an online Pixieset gallery, where you can:
- view your images
- download your photos
- share with friends and family
- order prints if you’d like
It’s simple, beautiful, and easy to use
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to stress about this.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to show up.
I’ll take care of the rest.
I am genuinely so excited to create something beautiful for you.
